I am in NY state and suggest you do a search for bank walkaways,I have discovered several instances where banks have started foreclosures then walked away and filed a notice to release lis pendens meaning they are canceling the foreclosure action. You can go to the county clerks office and look up your name and see the lis pendens that was filed and see if a cancellation of the lis pendens was filed.
